How Does it Work?

Once we have set it up, you connect your tomtom you want updating to your PC via supplied usb cable, or on some models you can just hook up your memory card from the tomtom to a memory card reader attached to your PC, contact us via simple online chat system, and we update it remotely in minutes.

You need the following to get up and running using our remote usb service

• A PC with Windows XP

• An internet connection.

• A compatible TomTom Device 

• A USB Cable to Connect it to your PC (or memory card reader)

Step 1. Setting Up The Software

• Download Hamachi & install it.

• Download install setup-usbnet-server.msi

• Run usb over network software

• Launch Hamachi and join the network, NETWORK NAME: fftomtom   PASSWORD: remote

Step2. Setting Up Your TomTom

• Make sure the tomtom is fully charged.

• Connect tomtom to PC via cable as supplied with your tomtom, if you don't have one you can buy a mini usb cable from here

• Or you can connect the memory card to a card reader on your PC

• Windows will want drivers, select install automatically (do not connect to the internet if prompted to get these drivers)

• Once drivers are installed correctly, look in "MY computer" and you will see it install as a new drive ie F:

Step 3. Making your Payment

• IMPORTANT: Change your hamachi user nickname to your PayPal email address, so we can recognise you when you make a payment to use this service.

• Make your paypal payment for the tomtom service using the form below.

• you must make payment for the service you need doing prior to messaging us to service it, any requests will be ignored unless paid for.

Step4. Service Procedure

• Now use Hamachi to right click and chat any fonefun engineer.

• Tell us which Tomtom model you need servicing.

• Our engineers will chat with you LIVE and service your TomTom remotely.

• He will ask you to connect your tomtom to PC via cable as supplied with your tomtom, Or you can connect the Memory card to a card reader on your PC

• In usb over network software, right click your tomtom and share it.

• The engineer can now service it.

HELPFUL TIPS

• TIP 1 Change your Hamachi settings so double click opens chat box: click settings icon then preferences, then window and set "double click action" to "send instant message".  This makes chatting much easier.

• TIP 2 You can ask any fonefun engineer to service your tomtom (there are more than one), you can tell who is an engineer as their nickname will begin "fonefun" ie. "fonefun" or "fonefun - mark" or "fonefun - mike" etc...
