Exclamation VK 530 Cable Setup Guide

This info will help you connect your VK Cable to your VK 530 enabling you to transfer ringtones and pictures between your PC and VK mobile phone.

Before we start there are a few things we need to tell you, as we have been receiving the same questions every day via email.
    1. First of all, ignore that it says 107,207 on the end of your cable; The cable works perfectly ok with your VK 530 as it has been modified to do so.

    2. The packaging may be different from the picture featured in our online store. Ignore this too, as manufacturers in china often change package design from batch to batch.

    3. Always remember that we test our cables, and even customers in our forum help to test them before we release them on general sale, so you have the re-assurance that what we sell does exactly what it's supposed to do :-)

First of all you need the VK USB cable @ http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/datacables/vk.htm

This comes packaged with 2 CD's normally. (newer packages just have 1 cd as they have added the needed pc sync as requested by ourselves)
One CD icontains the USB Drivers, and the other CD contains a copy ov PC Sync. whis is comaptible with the VK 530 and other models.

Step 1. Install PC Sync Software which we have included in the box. also available here (http://www.vkmobile.com/club/pcsync.php)

Step 2. Insert the USB Driver disk, and connect your phone to the PC using the cable. Make sure the phone is powered on with a valid sim card working inseerted in it.

Step 3. Windows will as for the drivers, let windows search automatically, and it will pick them up and install them from the CD

Step 5. Once windows has finished finding all the needed drivers, windows will notify you that your new hardware is ready to use.

Step 6. Launch VK PCSync for the first time. and select the "configuration" button (see below)

Step 7. Now select the highest com port number. PCsync will now ask you to close the program and restart it, do this.

Step 8. Now you have relaunched the program, vk sync will recognise the correct port, and wait for the phone to respond. it will display a red icon in the bottom of the screen
Step 9. on the phone itself, goto settings and select it, goto PC Sync set and select it, highlight number 1 (connect) and select it.

Step 10 PC Sycnc will now detect the phone and you can start transfering tones etc.

If you have any other questions about using pcsync, please contact VK customer support (http://www.vkmobile.com/contact/index.php) as they have proven to be very helpful in the past

More help for people who maybe a bit blonde, and just cannot seem to install their cable

insert the usb driver cd into your cd drive

    Connect the cable

    Windows will want drivers

let windows automatically search for the drivers (do not connect to the internet to find them if windows asks you)

Windows will now search your PC for the drivers and find them on the CD

install the drivers (select continue anyway at the prompt)

If windows does not ask Right click the MyComputer icon on your desktop and select properties, Select hardware, Select device manager

if you do not have a "myComputer" icon, you can get to device manager by pressing START then CONTROL PANEL then select SYSTEM, then HARDARE then DEVICE MANAGER

Look for anything with a yellow question mark or exclamation mark

If you do not have one then windows has indeed installed the cable and you can find the correct com port number for your cable under the ports area of device manager

If you do have a yellow question mark or exclamation mark, then double click it

    Select driver

    Select update driver

Manually select the driver by browsing to the folder on your desktop

Once all question marks are gone then goto the ports area on device manager and find the newley assigned com port number

This com port number needs to be selected when you run the PC Sync software
