VK 530 Help Needed

I need help with my new vk 530. I put the new vodafone simcard in, but each time I turn it on, it says 'emergency calls only'. I have tried taking the simcard out, but it doesn't work. Help! :usuk:

maybe the phone is barred due to being reported lost/stolen

if not take it back to where you bought it from, it will still be under warrentee
