D500 flash pack

Hi im trying to use the D500 flash pack, everythings connected, ive followed all the instructions, but in the bottom window it says:

Downloading the Boot-Loader (317792 bytes)... checksum mismatched from Pre-Loader (0x22)

It's been doing this for 20+ minutes, is this normal?
