Hi all,
I wanted to ask some advice first before plunging in and making maybe an error in buying this model phone. I have myself a NOKIA 6300 and I am satisfied with it and want to buy one for my fiancee's sister now she lives in Turkey and the price of the handset is £79.99 to £89.99 at the cheapest, both prices are PAY AS YOU GO and on o2, the problem is when I want to take it to Turkey I need to unlock the sim so it will be sim free and available to use with her own sim card which is TURKCELL. I have been quoted up to £25.00 to unlock this phone but after searching the internet have found a smaller price of only £2.95 to unlock the mobile.

I am very scepticle at why such a huge price difference and would like to ask some of the more experienced members here how I can unlock her phone as it is a gift for xmas, all replies would be great I would ask here first before plunging in and buying the phone only to find she cannot use it in Turkey. The same model NOKIA 6300 in Turkey is nearly £160.00
Thanks all

If £2.95 is for a calculator or code delivered to you, or lastly "the secret how to unlock your own phone that the networks don't want you to know" (or similar phrasing) then you can find all of these for around 99p on $bay.

The truth is that none of them work at all and can actually hinder a genuine unlock attempt.

Prices vary hugely depending on which country you live, etc. The average price around most areas is £20 - £30. Fonefunoffer this service with a return delivery service (sameday) for £25 and have done many, many handsets so you won't be having a paperweight returned to you.

Honestly if the £2.95 solution works, message me. I honestly couldn't be bothered to take most of the newer Nokias apart for that price.
