nokia 6600 barred in the uk help!!!!!!

i have a chanceof buying a nokia 6600 of ebay but it says its barred in the uk but it works perfectly abroad does anyone know if you can get it to work in the uk and how much it will cost but i need to know for certain that it can be done as i would be wasting my money thanks in advance :P

If Barred in the U.K it mean's that it has been reported stolen to 1 of the network,s in the U.K as in other countries they have different network O\P,s then it will work it is totaly against the law to have it unbarred as it will need to be chipped as it is a DCT 4 handset and no shop will touch itand if you get cought with it you get done for possesion of a stolen phone stay well clear of it and DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY

Yea, inside the fone there is a chip that has the IMEI on it, the only way to "unbarr" the fone is to change this (note which is illegal). You might be able to do it with an EPROM burner.

Yes change it and face 5yrs in prison as the police are taking IME changing harder than car theft 1 perosn did get 5yrs i heard in the trade and he was only caught with 1 fone on him which had been done put it in bin :thanks:
