Does anyone know if you can chnage these animations when you switch your phone on and off because they are really annoying me.

crap arn't they
I didn't find out how with mine.
I guess it could be changed by changing the Firmware.
But not sure how to do it safely

There is no 'safe' way to change the start up/shutdown anims. And yes you do have to change the firmware - the best way to do this is to use a program called Toolbox - use Google to search for it - but be warned it can seriously f@ck up your phone!!!! ;) if theres enough interest i might be persuaded to register and upload some files to do this or at least a few handy links
