I have recently upgraded my phone to a MDA Compact 2. It was originally on T-Mobile. I got it unlocked so my O2 sim card would work in it. I have changed the wap settings to O2 and it is that is where the problems are. I can connect to GPRS and i have no problems sending MMS messages. But the problem starts when i try to browse the internet with it. The MDA Compact runs on Windows Mobile Version 5 and it has internet explorer as the web browser. When i try to open a page i get an error on the phone and it says that it cannot connect. I have recently heard some about the sim being enabled for data packets. How do i found out about this and can anyone help me in my desperate hour of need. Any help would be truly appreciated.

It has probably still got T-Mobile's T-Zones as the default broswer. You will need to get O2 Active settings sent to it.

Are you on contract or PAYG? You may need to speak to O2 and find out whether you can view the whole web on your SIM without any other subscription. T-Mobile offer Web n Walk as an extra.

Just checked on O2 website and they have info on Mobile Web Services

I am on PAYG and its one of them genie sims with 300 free text when you top up £10 a month. The sim let me view the whole web on my old phone which was a Nokia 6230. Do you think because of my new phone because it is a pocket pc and uses internet explorer that could be the problem.
