Contact your network provider, and tell them. They'll cancel your sim card to stop anyone using it for calls etc. If you know the imei number of the phone they can barr the handset so it's useless to anyone else. The IMEI number will be on the box the phone came in if you still have it.

Is it PAYG or contract?

This information is lifted directly from Vodafones website regarding lost or stolen mobiles.

What to do if your phone is stolen

To report a stolen or lost phone, call your network operator, service provider or 08701 123 123. They will deactivate your SIM card and handset so that it will not work on any UK network. The relevant network operator numbers are:

Vodafone
Contract: 07836 191191
Pre-pay: 08700 776655

Orange
Contract: 07973 100150
Pre-pay: 07973 100451

O2
Contract: 08705 214000
Pre-pay: 08705 678678

T-Mobile
Call: 0845 412 5000

Virgin Mobile
Call: 0845 6000 789

3
Call: 07782 333 333

Hope this helps.

08701 123123 is a recorded message system listing service providers numbers to contact, not to actually report your lost phone.

When you have trouble connecting with Bluetooth, Read The Manual. Top Tip, that one.

No, the wife has the 6280 (I have a 6234). I don't think she has problems saving contacts though. It does sometimes lose the memory card. Removing it and replacing it restores it. If you're saving them on the memory card (can you do that?) it could be your problem.
