I have maybe done something totally stupid!!!
I've been talking to this guy via msn coz he had 2 nokia N91's for sale.
To cut a long story short, he said he'd swap a N91 for my D800 in which i thought was kool.
So anyway, i was chatting to him yesterday and he said he'd send it to me so i had it before 1pm today, but i had to send my D800 at the same time so we could both give each other the tracking numbers etc.
I was abit worried as ive never done anything like this before and he does seem pretty genuine and he assured me everything was kool and so on. He sent the phone and gave me the tracking number, i then did the same etc.
However, my phone has been delivered to him as i checked, but i've received NO phone. I've even phoned Royal mail and they said that they have no record of the tracking number and that i should get in touch with the sender. My bf rang him pretending to be interested in the N91's and asked if he still had them, in which he replied yes. My bf then said to him, why has'nt my gf's phone turned up when you said you had sent it. The reply then was, i have sent it, my bf then went on to say about royal mail having no records etc and that we know my phone has been delivered, and he replied with yes i know it has. The bloke then said he was going to go to the post office that he sent it from to enquire about and then ring us back.

What do i do now?? I know deep down i've been ripped off, if im not going to get the N91 i at least want my D800 back.
Where do i stand? Can i go to the police???
HELP!!!!

he's had your pants down big time.

this is typical of most ebayers on the net.

you just wouldnt send your phone to a stranger, and that is exactly what you have done

It doesnt snd promising does it? if it was me i wud def go the the police with all the info you have and get it down on record, you have nothing to loose there, other than contact a solicitor for advice im not sure wot else you could do. I hope the guy is honest and sends the phone!

And never do that again.... all the best wiggly

:upset: Yeah i know, ive really done it this time. It was'nt ebay i got speaking to him from it was the newspaper Loot.
I have his address and mobile number. If this is anything to go buy.
If he's not going to send me the phone, i at least want my phone back.
The only problem is that i live in Surrey and he's from Blackburn in Lancs.
My bf has said that he's prepared to drive the 4hrs there to get either phone.

Don't expect too much from this, except a big lesson learned. Not everyone you speak to or communicate with is nice. I give the impression I'm not nice and perhaps I'm not. But I'll tell you what, at least I'm honest.

I'd be with your boyfriend on this one, and I'd be off in the car to go get what's mine. The fecker at the other end would be wise to sort this before I got there.:whatever:

:dope: :dope: :dope:
to me you are a fool to do deal this way and yes i mean fool
but the best i think to do is give him one more call and ask whats going on
and say if it is not sorted soon the phone will be blocked and the police will be involved and next time do not deal this way.... you may of lernt a hard lesson this time
but to drive 4 hours and to find a empty house may not help as this could happen

hope all works out for you and you get a fone back but i doubt it....

Thats harsh, you show a bit of trust in people and they screw you over. Just contact Lancashire Police, give them his address and they should sort the rest out it shouldnt be too difficult for them
