Can you please explain more about the security code it is asking for as if it is a illegal sim or 1 that has been given to you then security codes are stored at start up in the sim itself network o\p of the sim card will also help :?:

hi.. I have a Nokia 8310 and somehow got my security code changed, it isn't the default 12345 or 00000. Is there a way to find out what it has been changed to?

is it the start up security code or the sim security code it is asking for as they are 2 different code,s 1 is a 4 number start up code and the other is a 5 number keypad unlock code the normal start up code is 1234 then keypad unlock code is normaly 12345 but some network's change there pin code I.E if the fone has been unlocked and put onto another network as from orange to virgin  then the start up code for sim would change

I have the PIN code which is the 4 digit code I put in when I first turn on my phone, but if I want to put another SIM card in my phone it asks me for a Security Code, or if I go into SETTINGS and want to "change my Security Code" or "Restore Factory Settings" it asks for this Security Code. I have my PUK code and enter that # but that doesn't work either. HELP??

I tried what you said about turning off my security code in SETTINGS, but it ASKS for the security code first before you can turn that feature off!! Can my provider ORANGE somehow find out what the code has been changed to if I call them?

Can I take it back to the place I bought it and have them reset the phone? How much would it be to have YOU reset it and how long would it take?

I alway's thought that the PUK code change with every network and every sim card could that be the reason why maybe :onfire:

It's the SIM lock thats causing it, and like FreeFone said the default is 12345 (the security code is part of the phone not the sim). The only way to disable this is to ask the person you bought the phone from for the security code, if not then send it to Mark.
The reason it is asking for a security code is because the phone has the change sim function enabled which stops other sims functioning in your phone. (its handy if the phone is stolen)
