As of Wednesday 27/10/2010 oneSIM is the only method of activation bypass for iPhone.
The reason is that apple have blocked the testsim ID from itunes, that other activation sims rely on.

You can use tiny-umbrella.exe software and connect your iPhone to pc via standard usb cable to read the model number from the handset like the picture below,
then use google and search this number to find the correct network that your iPhone is locked to. Then simply program this network to the oneSIM.
