What is Firmware Upgrading?

At FoneFunShop, we have access to all the latest Firmware Files for your Mobile Phone.

Did you know that when most phones are released (especially Nokia's) that there are, on average at least 5 new firmware's released for your phone !!

Why Upgrade?

Like PC Software, manufacturers improve & patch the firmware in your mobile phone.  These patches improve the phones performance and correct bugs.For example: Nokia N70's have Bluetooth problems in most early software versions, and loose connection intermittently.  A new firmware upgrade will fix this.

If Possible, we will only use generic firmware and not operator versions of firmware, so you also get your phone debranded too !  Once your mobile has been de-branded, you will notice all the menu systems are clearer, un-restricted, and often faster too.  This often removes any software glitches that your phone previously had.  Also some network firmware's prevent you uploading ringtones & pictures via cable, or manually setting your internet homepage and web / wap / picture message settings, debranding enables you to do this.

How do I Check My Current Firmware Version?

Press *#0000# on your nokia to view your current firmware version.

You can check your Nokia firmware version against our list of available firmware's.  If a version listed for your model is higher, then you need a firmware upgrade

How much does it cost?
The cost to upgrade the firmware on your phone by post is £18.99 (£15.00 + £3.99 return delivery) this includes cost of returning your phone to you via Special delivery back to your door !!

Do you offer a language change service?
Yes, you can use this service to change the primary language of your phone too.  If you require a different primary language installing on your phone other than English, please enter the required language when creating your order form below.

How long does this service take?

Our turn around time for debranding is normally 2 working days from sending your phone to us, to receiving it back !!!

We normally debrand your phone the day it arrives to us and then we post it back on the same day too!

Alternative Firmware Upgrade Walk-in Service

Our store is in Sheffield, maybe you would prefer to pop into the shop and get the job done.  Firmware upgrading can take a long time, so its normally better if you drop the phone in and pop back later when the work is done and pay over the counter. Our address and opening times are here

How do I use this service?

• After making your order below, you will receive an order form via email, print this out.

• If you pay online print out your payment receipt email too.

• If you wish to pay via cash, postal order or cheque, include this with your order form.

• Take out your sim card and memory card and keep it safe, as this is not needed.

• If possible, fully charge the battery and turn your phone off.

• Wrap your phone in bubble wrap or similar.

• Place wrapped phone in a jiffy bag, along with your order form and payment.

• Send your phone to us at the address below via special delivery, to ensure your phone is delivered to us safely.
